Nuala Clarke, a visual artist, was born in Dublin and educated at the National College of Art & Design. She graduated in 1993. Afterward, she moved to New York City. In 2007 she received a fellowship to The Ballinglen Arts Foundation and began returning to Ireland from NY to work every year. In 2013 she moved full time to the West of Ireland. Nuala is represented by Claremorris Gallery in Ireland and Dolan Maxwell in Philadelphia, exhibits extensively in Ireland, Europe, and the US and her work is held in many public and private collections. In 2020 she received a bursary award from The Arts Council of Ireland. Her book Irish Moss of a Dead Man's Skull is an alchemical portfolio; an ode to light, colour, loss, and the elements, a fierce meditation on the inherent healing power of abstract art.
