The Ballinglen Arts Foundation received NYCI Youth and Artist in Residency Scheme, Explorer Grant to work with Lacken Foróige and artist Úna Morris to examine the potential role the new Ballinglen Museum of Art can have in the lives of local youth and vice versa. We want to ensure we are providing relevant ans enriching programmes; to facilitate creative conversations between youth, national and international visiting artists and the work both groups make; to check in and explore narratives important to the youth of this specific rural area in this time with the view to designing future Youth Arts projects.
Local artist Úna Morris (with the support of Learning Curator and artist Nuala Clarke) began this period of exploration on the premise that one can ‘find a unique visual voice through the physical place’.
