July 24th Workshop. HINTERLAND with Patricia Burns.
Patricia explores the theme of Hinterland which is a German word meaning the land behind, “an area lying beyond what is visible or known”. You will roam the hinterland of Ballycastle, gather ideas through walking, looking and recording using notes and drawings and make a plan for a large painting.

August 7th Workshop. THE EYE AND THE WAVE with Nuala Clarke and physicist Paul Nugent.
In this workshop Nuala and Paul will team up to examine light and colour as they relate to each other, the environment and our eyes through physics and paint. For those of you interested in scientific and painterly experimentation, direct experience of phenomena in a creative context.

August 14th Workshop. SCENERY with Ramon Kassam
Ramon will take the theme of scenery as a loose departure point to explore the look and feel of a landscape, and how the idea of scenery itself is activated by the viewer. In the workshop you will actively engage with, fantasise about, and shape the surrounding environment through painting and drawing exercises.

August 28th Workshop. THE ACTIVITY OF DRAWING with Joe Wilson.
In this workshop the emphasis will be on bringing back from a working walk memories of you have found interesting from being and walking in the area around the Ballinglen river.
