Wendy Prellwitz

A connection to the infinite, unknowable beyond is implicit in Wendy’s abstracted paintings &
prints, inspired by light and water.
 
Wendy is a partner at Mixit Print Studio in Somerville, MA, and has exhibited in New England,
on Long Island and beyond for 30 years.
This year, she co-curated and exhibited in “Watercolors and Monotypes, Co Mayo, Ireland” at
The Chandler Gallery in Cambridge, MA and participated in the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair with
Mix-it Print Studio. She had a solo show of Nocturnes at the Lenz Winery, in Cutchogue, NY, in
2025, and showed at Alpers Fine Art in Rockport, MA, Bromfield Gallery in Boston, Cambridge
Art Association, Concord Art Association, and the Mosesian Art Center in Watertown, MA.
In 2025, Wendy taught a watercolor and watercolor monotype workshop in Ireland at the
Ballinglen Art Foundation, and a monotype and woodcut workshop at her studio in Peconic,
Long Island.
In recent years, she was included in The Long Island Museum’s exhibit, “Ebb & Flow”, The
Nassau County Museum of Art, Detour 4” in Riverhead, NY, and the “Singular & Serial” exhibit
at Cove St Arts in Portland, ME.
​Collections include the Long Island Museum, the Boston Public Library, and The Ballinglen
Archive, as well as private collections.
 
She was awarded fellowships from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation to paint in Ireland, a grant
from the St Botolf Club to paint in Rome and honored with the Spirit Award from Maud Morgan
Arts, to commemorate her co-founding of that city-wide Cambridge art center and her continued
service there.
She has taught drawing, painting and printmaking workshops in Cambridge and Long Island
and is also an architect, having worked for 40 years primarily at her architectural practice in
Cambridge, MA.
Educated at The Rhode Island School of Design and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in
Boston, she lives and works in both Cambridge, MA and Peconic, NY.
