Nicki Heenan

Artist & Art Educator
Course Outline: A  waterbased mixed media or oil and cold wax workshop using pigments and inks. There will be the use of found materials,  instruction on making pastels, inks and dry pigments and the use of appropriate binders. This workshop is in context of the local landscape of Ballinglen. The aim of this workshop is to explore the painting construct, of how we interpret materials and ultimately how to apply a different lens on landscape painting. A sense of abstraction and realism combine to express the duality of what we experience and communicate through our paintings. This workshop is about digging deeper into the foundation of your knowledge of materials and how to manipulate them in context of your own artistic practice.
